HOW TO BOOK: You can click on any "BOOK HERE" button to get in touch with us to ask questions or book your spot! We prefer to get a feel for what your needs might be to help you decide on a session type so we can secure the appropriate studio time needed to achieve your goals! Once your session date, length and time is decided, we will invoice you directly to pay the retainer and book your spot. There is a $150 retainer due to book your session. The balance is due anytime before your session. Session dates/times cannot be held without this retainer. Spots are booked on a first come basis.
YOUR HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHER: Our headshots are masterfully done by our award winning associate photographer, Frank Carrino. He is a blast to work with and extremely skilled with studio lighting and special effects, and best of all he takes time to make sure he's getting the expression and looks you want out of your session! You are in the best of hands! You can find him directly at @fcphotographs on instagram and Frank Carrino Photography and Cinema on Facebook.
WHAT A SEASONED ACTOR CAN EXPECT FOR DELIVERY: THE RUSH HOUR: around 4 different looks and 100-200 images. THE STANDARD: aprox 8 looks and 200-300. THE WORKS: 10+ looks and 300-400 images. THE MINI: 1-2 looks and around 30-50 images. Delivery goes to both you and your reps with a base edit for color and vibrancy and they are not watermarked. Cinematic style branding and PR shots are different from acting audition shots and result in less variety, with more focus on dynamics, polish, & presence.
Ultimately, your final gallery of looks delivered REALLY depends on how organized you are with building your outfits, layers, and how fast you can change. It's truly unlimited, but if you want a lot of looks and want to take your time, book a longer session to achieve that result without feeling rushed.
HAIR & MAKEUP: You will need to arrive camera ready after either doing your own hair and makeup, or hiring a professional (recommended). You are welcome to bring them with you to the studio for the entire shoot for touchups and changes but the initial application must be done prior to studio arrival. Keeping makeup and hair changes buildable and very simple, will allow you more looks during our time together. You will be expected to book, pay, and tip your hair and makeup artist directly based on their individual fees and policies. We are happy to make recommendations of those we love.
Be sure to ask your reps if they have a preference on IF they want makeup done professionally and how they want it done, before you book a hair and makeup artist. For casting, it is kept for simple and authentic, but for PR/Branding sessions, it would likely be preferred.
WARDROBE: Wardrobe is a powerful way to help express your versatility and characters! We suggest speaking with your talent manager / agency reps ahead of your session to find out what kind of looks they need and want from you to get a well-varied portfolio based on the types of characters you are suited to play.
Planning and organizing your shoot ahead of time will get you a more streamlined, productive session during our time together. We offer a virtual meet and greet planning consultation prior to your session to help with this.
If you struggle with styling, we recommend hiring a personal stylist to help round out your wardrobe. This would need to be done after getting recommendations from your reps and in advance of our virtual planning session.
Bring multiple options per character, so we have choices to work with. It is imperative that you arrive with all of your outfits steamed or pressed properly and on hangars to prevent wrinkles.
RETOUCHING: All galleries will be delivered with basic clean "soft edits" for overall color, light, contrast, vibrancy. Each session comes with a set amount of retouched images of your choice with option to add more images only if you want.
Additional retouching is $20 per image. High-end editorial style retouching (recommended for PR, websites, branding, IMDB) is $30 per image.
Our retouching is defined as removal of nonpermanent marks such as blemishes or bruises, flyaway hairs on face, lightly brightening eyes + teeth.
“High-end retouch” is all of the above, and includes professional skin retouching that evens out skin tones and softens deep lines while retaining natural skin textures, basic blemish removal, dodging and burning, details like fine lines and eye veins are softened - all for a clean editorial polished magazine look that pops. Some retouching that requires additional time, such as excessive acne or braces, is subject to additional fees and can be quoted upon request.
VIRTUAL PLANNING SESSION: This is a zoom session geared toward getting to know you and planning your headshot session to get the most out of it! Please have an idea of what your reps are looking for as well as wardrobe options picked out and ready to show at this meeting. If this is not for a talent agency, be ready to share what you personally need and desire from your session to achieve your audition and PR goals.
For headshots, this meeting is around 20-30 minutes on zoom. For The Branding Experience we go more in depth with information and planning and could last a bit longer.
PAYMENT AND CANCELATION POLICIES: We accept all major credit cards, cash and ACH payment. Your preferred session date/time will not be held without your retainer paid in full.
Your remaining balance can be paid anytime prior to your session date. While we understand that things come up, once you book your spot, we arrange a studio space and turn away all other inquiries for this date/time.
The studio, Frank Carrino, and CJP cannot be held responsible for yours or your hair and makeup artist's timeliness. All monies are due for the time and space booked, regardless of late arrival and/or client being camera ready at start of session.
Cancellations made 3-7 business days before your shoot: Your retainer may be transferred to a new shoot day.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment time: Your retainer will be forfeited. A new retainer is required to re-book.
No-shows will forfeit retainer AND will NOT be rescheduled.
We reserve the right to refuse to work with anyone who does not respect our time and efforts to serve all of our clients fairly.
LOCATION: The studio space we use for headshots is located in Costa Mesa, Orange County, and is reserved exclusively upon each booking. We will send you directions to our studio space once you have retained your spot. If you need consultation in person on other days, please contact us directly. You are welcome to make an appointment to see either one of us at our Aliso Viejo office location.
